took some hi-res screencaps from the new x3trailer, made a banner out of one of those caps. Banner 2Sample on the forums,edit: anotherone, remake of #2 Banner 3think I'll make one more soon, the larger variety, the better, right? Got some hi-res trailer caps here if someone else is thinking of using x3 trailer images on their banner-entries! x3trlxcaps

Would an image rotator kill the idea of the contest? Everyone could sign their name onto their banner(s), and they could all be used. A simple script would show a random banner every time the page is refreshed.
Just an idea... many people might not like the "we're all winners" view.

normally i wouldnt, but since im gonna lose that sounds GREAT! Wow Cat, hehe. I can't believe you searched for the font. Thats awsome . I have this thing that once I start looking for something I can't stop. But it pays off... eventually. Really nice Cat, that was one of my ideas small boxes hehe. Thanks. I originally started with this, but I thought it needed more. sketty24—You did those in Paint and Word? Amazing! And welcome! And please remember to not double-post :-) If you can find the code, I'll think about it. It's pretty common, so I'll look for one. Edit: I saw a couple of members posting a preview of their banners on the forum, so...

Good job, guys! I'm liking everything I see! There are many I can't even pick between! If we can do an image rotation with some special code, that'd be cool! I guess it defeats the purpose of the contest though but it still could be a possibility, maybe?

Yeah, I'm not sure what we'll do now. We'll see by the end of the contest.

Nice avatar Mr. XMF Webmaster!
With my very crude knowledge of Javascript, I wrote a code that seems to work.
First part goes in the head section:
<script type="text/javascript">
var headers=new Array("imageurl1", "imageurl2", "imageurl3", "imageurl4") var randomnumber=Math.floor(Math.random()*4)
</script> Replace the imageurls with the URLs to the banners. Then replace the 4 in (Math.random()*4) with one number less than1 the total number of banners.
And this goes where the banner should appear:
<script>document.write("<a href='http://xmenfilms.proboards54.com/index.cgi'><img width='752' height='120' alt='Home' src='");document.write(headers[randomnumber]);document.write("' /><a/>")</script>
There's probably a better more-compatible way of doing it, but I wanted to practice my coding.
Edit: 1 I tested it further and realized it left a banner out if you made it one number less than the total number. So you have to make it the total number.

LOL. Well when the time comes, and if we decide to use multiple ones I'll let you be the one to do it. I don't know if you've seen the Headers and Footers Cat, but its a mess up there (I'm not sure if TOB gave you that power). I cleaned it up a bit when I added the new skin, so its not as messy, lol.

No, I don't have access to the Admin CP, but I could tell it's a mess by looking at the page source I think many—if not all—the <script> and <style> tags can be combined. Another thing to do is save them all in one file and link to them externally. For example, the code for a skin would look like this: <style type="text/css">@import "URL-OF-STYLESHEET.css";</style> Much better, huh?

You can do the same with Javascript files:
<script type="text/javascript" src="URL-OF-JAVASCRIPT.js"></script> Just remember that CSS files end in .css and Javascript ends in .js. The <script> and <style> tags are not needed within this file. And as I said, it would probably be best to combine most of these, CSS with CSS and JS with JS. Have to test it to make sure it works first. One little error can cause total destruction.
