Actually the karma thingy was fun while lasted.... However DH is right! People have been receiving negative karma for no reason at all and it has been giving alot of ppl, including MYSELF initially when i first started out - ALOT of a heartaches... This forum is supposed to be light-hearted and fun, but somehow members who feel they are not given enuf karma and being smited can be downer at times... At least right now, we can all focus on doing what this forum is all abt - DISCUSSING X-MEN & GENERAL STUFF 24/7 without being felt weighed down. I support your decision 100%, DH! Right now, we can all focus on being friends and being mature threaders from now onwards... Thanks... If possible, please try to bring back the custom banner/sigs, i missed those very much! Perhaps to rectify the previous problem is to control the sizing of the banner which can be also applied the same as avartar. Like for example, set a customary sizing, eg. how many pixels by how many pixels, so anybody who goes beyond the max. sizing will automatically be reduced or rejected, how about that, SH? Good idea? That way, everyone will abide by the rukes and will not risk stretching the boards and without making the whole forum look cluttered and messy, thus slowing down the server process... Clever idea huh?

Im not beothered about sigs, however karma was probably (after the amazing folks) the main reason i loved this forum so much. I understand the reasons and respect your opinions, but why not just take away the smite button? What about the people who have worked hard and done great things and got karma and know have nothing to show for it. I must admit i am saddened but theres nothing i can do. RIP Karma EDIT and can i also say that i wish you hadnt close the karma thread cos it was just a great place to chat and talk to each other once in a while.

Yeah its sad that Karma is gone forever...It was fun while it lasted.... im gonna miss it and I also think the board has become less personable because of the sigs and the karma thing..........as long as you dont take my name and my avatar out of the blue ill be fine though....

I liked the idea of karma and it was fun while it lasted. But it did bring some bad energy to the forums, and none of us want that.
I liked giving karma to people who made good points, knew a lot about the movie or were just really friendly to their fellow members. But when people start abusing it that is when it is time to get rid of it. I am strongly against people who push newbies around because they don't know where to post something, and smiting them is even worse.
This site is not about karma, is about fans getting together to discuss X-Men, the reason we are all here. And if you get the chance to make some friends along the way (like I have) then that makes this place even better.
And so I strongly support your decision Downhere.

I was confused at the Karma thing at the end because someone kept on taking my Karma away for no reason. I went from 3 to -1 in one day, and I didn't do anything to take it away. The Karma thing was cool, but I'm kind of happy to ee it go.

Bummer that it has to go... but I didn't even notice people asking for karma. I just thought it was a kinda cool way to reward people who went out of their way to make others feel welcome, or helped me out when I was in a technical bind. But if it was being abused then I support the decision.

I liked it cuz it gave you an oppurtunity to rate people based on what they posted and decide for themselves if it was good or not.

its basically awarding props to users..like for example..they bring news or do something thats good for the forum..you get karma..Downhere discontinued it because members were either giving karma and taking it recklessly just because some members were new..or they just didn't like.
