No she can't. It would slowly kill her. Once, she was locked under her phased form, it nearly killed her. But she can kill by phasing a person and let the person be part of the material trough wich she made it phase.

I remember hearing once that she could only phase as long as she could hold her breath... is that true? or did i just hear the voices in my head saying that?

no i think that tru becuz if u listen 2 her while she is phasing in X2 if u listen 2 her phasing u hear her take a deep breath becuz she has to hold her breath while phasing throught objects or ppl

It depends on how thick the material she has to go through is. She can breathe/talk while phased but has to hold her breath when passing through an object. And yeah, her powers include being able to push herself through the air.
I hope they show her shorting out electronics.

Phasing doesn't mean "becoming one." It means "passing through." Literally, her atoms pass through the spaces between other atoms. If you can't control that ability, you wouldn't know how to do it...the phasing...and would be "stuck" in whatever matter you phased into/through. Your atoms would be surrounded by atoms from the material you're stuck in. The film kind of borrows this version of phasing from an X-Files episode where the pilots of an experiemental craft based on alien technology end up "phased" into rock.

Shadowcat possesses the ability to "phase" or literally pass through solid matter by passing her atoms through the spaces between the atoms of the object through which she is moving. Utilizing her phasing ability, she can also walk on air. While phasing, she is intangible and thus invulnerable to physical attacks and telepaths have a hard time reaching her mind in phased form. However the density of adamantium proves deleterious to her phasing, causing her to be severely disoriented if she tries to pass through adamantium or adamantium passes through her. Her phasing powers also disrupt any electronic equipment she passes through. For some time after she discovered her powers, she was only able to phase herself and her clothes along with her. However, she quickly learned to phase other people and objects with her.

I've always loved her ability to walk on air and didn't know why she didn't drift down lighter in x2 when she phased through her bed. Can't wait for x3!

I've always loved her ability to walk on air and didn't know why she didn't drift down lighter in x2 when she phased through her bed. Can't wait for x3! perhaps she wasnt strong enough or couldnt control that aspect of her powers yet? |

Well in X2 her only purpose of phasing through her bed was to get out of the room. The quickest thing for her to do was to go down. She didn't expect for soldiers to be in the room below her.

I remember in X2 before she phases through her bed she took a breath and closed her eyes. So thatz tru, she needs to hold her breath, which is actually a very cool idea. but it also makes sense i guess, your cell's need air to survive, but do atoms?? hmmm... neway. I actually thought Shadowcat was boring, but im slowly realizing she has a pretty cool power. wow...
