i dont mind movies changing a characters personality or their story from the comics... but changing their powers? thats diffrent... i rather have, what u may call lame crackle snap and pop than electricity... her name Jubilation Lee/Jubilee is a pun of her own powers... like when people think of a jubilee [the term, not the character] they think of a celebration of fireworks not electricity... lol well thats just my 2 cents ^_^

But i guess if they wanna cast Jubilee, there shd get someone who is the same age as Ellen Page... In the film, Jubilee appears much older than Kitty though both of them are of the same age... Actually, Kitty is a few years older than Jubilee in fact....
Regarding why directors chose Kitty over Jubilee cos Kitty's powers are much more useful when comes to Battle whereas Jubilee's powers are mainly fireworks that may not caused much damage except blinding ppl temporary and causing a commotion.... Such lighning powers can be caused by Storm or Cyclops.... Kitty's powers are unique and she can escape and phases thru objects at any time... so she will be useful to the X-MEN...
One thing concerns me though, why cant they make jubilee wear a yellow coat ike in the first film? Kea Wong who plays her is really old, she is like 27yo.... Man!!!

I beg to differ Jubillee's powers go far beyond simple fireworks. "mutant-manifest energy plasmoids as multi-colored fireworks of various shapes and intensities, which she can detonate to create disorienting bursts of light and sound, scalding heat, concussive impact, or interweave the "PAF" energies into solid objects to cause violent explosions at the molecular level" AS you can see if done right she could be a valuable member to the team but I doubt they would giver her her full range of powers. SHe could be a decent member they just never chose to put her in there why I don't know I would have enjoyed it but I guess we can't all have what we want. Ps. The quote is fro a reputable site called www.uncannyxmen.net just so you know I did not make this up.

I think we'll see her but I doubt her part will be that big. She'll probably get a cameo piece like Colossus in X2.

She's due for some action so I think we'll see her 'showoff' her powers like Colossus/Siren did in X2. There's always cameo's like that in the films and Jubilee should be on the top of that list for X3.

perhaps she will have some sort of scene that shows her "real" powers. it seems everything that wasnt in the first 2 movies is all in this one... ^_^

I did see somewhere that Jubilee would show some action this time around...But who knows..... if that scene wasnt cut.... Well, according to the writers, they only cut 1 30 second scene. Now unless that involved Jubilee, then I would think she will still be showcased.

It would be nice for Jubes to use her powers at least once...and i agree, not those sizzling electricity things...
there's so many 'main characters' in X-Men, its hard to put all of them in one movie. I think they've chosen the right characters to focus on, but still Jubes deserves a little screen time and hopefully some action!

Yeah... The thing I was wondering about. (with the look-alike electricity) Is that they weren't finished with the editing and since the scene was cut they just left it half done? But it will be a problem making her mutation look believable without making it look to corny... lol

I can see it now:
Wolverine is telling Bobby and Kitty how this is a war they might not come home from. Bobby tells Logan they arn't kids anymore (by the way that complaining and wining of I'm not a kid officially belongs to Jubilee in the animated series) Logan says ok you can go. Then dejavu Jubilee comes along with some other bigger kids and says we can help, you need us we are ready. She takes a stand also has leader of the younger mutants just like Genaration-X I believe she was the leader of that team. And does something for the team and sets up for the new mutants spin-off, starring Jubes among the other younger cast. I love Jubilee. And her powers would be nice to see how they portray them, although fireworks to sound corney in the movieverse.

They should have never brought up her name, if they weren't going to use her in the movies.

I remember watching the X2 Dvd and I cant remember if it was in the Deleted scene's or Commentary but I recall them talking about toying with the idea of having Deathstrike as Jubilee's Mom! lmao. And when Storm and Nightcrawler rescues them, she walks past Deathstrike's dead body in that glass tub and screams "M-O-M!!" That would have been a crack up if they went through with that Idea!

lol that would have been funny haha i honesty think that if this is the last of the trilogy and she has been in all 3 films (was she in number 1?) they will show her using her powers, i mean they wont just have a mutant in them and not show their powers would they???

yeah that was pretty funny- I was at least happy they mentioned Jubilee's name in the commentary- although it was sort of racist to say the least. Just because both Jubes and Deathstrike are Asian doesn't mean they are related... Jubilee is Chinese American, while Deathstrike is Japanese. Oh well. It would be the same thing if Bishop was in the movie and they joked about him running up to Halle Berry's Storm while saying, what up, sis? We all up in some crazy stuff right here. Too stereotypical and racist, but that's just my opinion. Anyways, Jubilee's powers would be ideal for a self defense situation. Do you know how devastating fireworks can be? Seriously! Look at how scared people get when a fireworks factory goes off... people die unfortunately! In the very least, Jubilee has the power to blind others... just as effective as pepper spray or mace- rendering your opponent helpless and unable to fight. All Jubes would have to do is blind the other team, and they would lose. Simple as that. Using her fireworks would easily pick off a few bad guys and also distract the whole brotherhood of evil mutants as they run and duck for cover from a bunch of firey lights and loud noises blasting in every direction. Jubilee's powers are incredible from a self-defense standpoint- I can't find an argument that states any different. Man I hope she has a power scene
