Who else agrees that that is one of the greatest character introductions..i dont mean from an action perspective.. but for fans of the comic books..too see the shy, pacifist (allmost) furry blue elf go nuts rocked me! u have to watch it again in slow motion to appreciate what he does..the moves he does with his tail are spectacular! and in my opinion he damn near steals the show from wolverine its just a pity he died off a bit towards the end.. and that he wont be in x3 but yeh..lemme hear sum love for mr wagner!

I agree, but I also think he is a bit played out, let someone else get the spotlight...

He was great in the movie. What better way to start off a movie than with a Kick butt action sequence? It was a awesome way to start the film. The writers did a awesome job. Also the same writers from X2 are the writers for Superman Returns. So we can expect great things from that movie as well.

hmmmm... hate to spoil the love for kurt, but i really didn't enjoy his constant bamfing.... the opening was cool, just a bit too stylized for my liking. i loved the white house reproduction though! very neat!

I enjoyed Nightcrawler in X2, but I wouldn't say he stole the show for me. The best in this film, in my opinion, are Magneto, Jean Grey and Mystique. I'd love to say Xavier or Cyclops but unfortunately they got the shaft for a good chunk of the film.

Nightcrawlers opening sequence was great.one of the best of all times, but for me he did'nt steal the show that honor goes to Mystic and Jean.

Nightcrawler had the best character introduction of them all, i was stunned , x2 was nothing like i expected, and x3 needs to live up to that .

i dont see why they didn have nightcrawler in the new movie that kinda upset me Budget reasons I guess. With introducing two new characters, it would have cost an additional amount of money to bring NC back. I am sure his fx are quite costly.

I know it just doesn't make sense to me why they wouldn't have him in the movie at all. I thought he and Storm had something going on but that might just be me.

are you kidding me. he didn't just rock, he was AWESOME!!!!that opening sequence he did in the white house was INCREDIBLE!!!!!after i watched that part i was like WHOA, do i have to watch anymore cause that right there was just plane spectacular.he rocked in X2, if only he would be in 3rd one. and before i forget i have a question. how did he have white skin??was it like make-up or something cause i still haven't figured it out.

Yeah he had some type of makeup, cause in one of the scenes, you can see him with half blue skin with the white fading out.

Yeah like Jagan said, it was make-up. Because you know he was an assassin and the hat and sunglasses covered up that part of his face so he had to use makeup to cover up the bottom part and then as he fights and stuff he starts to lose it.
And yes I shall miss Nightcrawler. I loved the bamfing part. It was my favorite scene of the whole movie (bamfing in the white house part- I should say). There is no better person to play Nightie better than Alan either. Sorry to all beasts fans but I think that Nightcrawler is a better character and his looks is highly more loyal to the comics than Beast's look is. Anyways I guess they do what they do for a reason.

Aye, it's just a shame to see him go though. I wonder why he would leave in the first place.

Apparently, Alan Cumming hated the make up for Nightcrawler and didnt want to go through the (8-hour) process again for another movie. He was also fed up with having to give so much time over to the movie, putting off other projects. Due to his lack of enthusiasm, and the fact so may other characters were being introduced, I think they just binned him.
Interestingly aswell, he didnt not get on with Bryan Singer at all.
