I borderline hated the movie the first time I saw it...then the second time I liked it a lot better hence my upgrading it's score to a 9-9.5 out of 10. But after thinking about it it's like an 8.9 out of 10...still great.

SR is 2hrs 34mins and X3 is 1hr 43 mins - u do the comaprisons and please dun point a finger to say ppl are putting down X3 - we love X-MEN that's why we expressed our disappointments! And if u think 250million made donestically is good? Then u are wrong, cos it took FOX 230 million to produce and make the movie so the profit margin isnt that great! Cant compare to the global worldwide cos it doesnt count. If X3 is 2hrs43 mins then alot of us will not feel disappointed. Your code of saying 'I am tired of ppl putting down .....' is rather rude! And we have the freedom to eexpress our feelings and opinions, it is not up to you to counter attacj us! We dun need your counter opinions... Are u sure u arent wolfgang? U sound juz like him... Just because a movie is long does not necessarily make it better. My roommate saw SR on opening night and said it was long and drawn out and rather boring throughout most of the film. He also said he liked X3 better and he's a bigger superman fan than an x-men fan. I have not seen SR yet, so i can't comment on which one was better, but i loved X3 and it's my favorite of the series. If you ask me, X2 was too long and drawn out and the final "action sequences" (if you can call them that) weren't even that good. I felt for the first time i was actually seeing the x-men in action during X3. The second time i watched it, i noticed a lot more of the story and it actually seemed kind of boring at times, much like singer's movies, but the action and the themes made up for it in my book. plus the sheer shock value of the professor scene, which i thought was the best action sequence of the movie. the only thing i was really disapointed with, and only minorly, was not having the fire bird in the pheonix affect, and that storm's tidal wave scene was cut. But storm still played a better role than the first two films and the pheonix affects were quite astonishing and even a little scary at times. Overall, i'd give it a 9 out of 10.

I guess to each his own - for me, i saw SR and i loved it! Perhaps u find it long and draggy cos most ppl choose to wanna watch for the action sequence rather than looking out for the dramatics conversaton between characters in between the movies... perhaps it take a real movie appreciator to realise that sometimes the inbetween so-called draggy conversationl moments are essential to part of the cinematic makeup of the movie - it will prob take u years before u would realise that cos at this point of time, action to u is rather more important - i respect that but not my cup of tea...

i think its was a good movie but its different not in a bad way people were expecting it to be like the first 2 with all the emotional stuff but got more action which i thought was great cause when you think about movies u remember your favorite action scenes not the characters speeches or lines

cause when you think about movies u remember your favorite action scenes not the characters speeches or lines I disagree (I always remember my favorite lines and speeches more than I do action scenes), but that brings up a good point—that X3 was made for a different audience than the first two.

You presume too much my friend. Just because i think certain movies are long and drawn out does not mean i don't know how to appreciate the dramatic elements of a film. it seems to me that you hold your own opinions in such high esteem that you criticize others that don't agree with you. you should have just left off with the first sentence of your post and that would have explained everything, but instead you went on to presume the types of movies i prefer and some how my opinion of these movies has led you to believe that i am somewhat of an "inferior movie appreciator". lol. sorry, i just don't agree with your assessment of these films and that's all there is to it.

well, my first post. i thought the movie was good. i had mixed emotions about it all but then again i could'nt help seeing it over and over again.
my favorite character must be the phoenix becuz she was great in every scene she was in. i thought her dark effect was very cool and her craziness was interesting to see. seeing the fire would have been cool, but seeing the "could have been" pictures of the fire effect...i'm glad they didnt haha. they were kind of video-gamey. tho the art of the xmen book or that cinefex, i dont know which one, had a nice drawing of the rise of the phoenix scene. anyways, i liked how all her action scenes had a purpose and that she didnt have to say much to get her point across. i'm glad famke janssen played phoenix.
i've accepted rogue's decision for the cure. movie rogue is a little different from comic rogue. she does less action and such...she's more fragile and her taking the cure might've been the best thing for her.
imma get a lot of crap for this but...what's with all the storm nerds in here? haha. i see on everyone's threads that the movie's being crappy for not putting in the tidal wave, like it was the most important part of the movie. i didnt think she was all that great in part 3. she was pretty. her hair looks cooler and her white eyes looked cooler...but her lines were...overdone. i thought her scenes with senator kelly in x1 and especially her relationship with nightcrawler in x2 spoke volumes louder than her complaints in x3, she came across as kind of immature.
o and the people in here that keeps saying "that didnt happen in the comics" and "that's not how the cartoon went"...dude, that's so annoying. it's called "movieverse". x-men has alternate storylines and all that junk now, the movie is like the ultimate comics where everything is translated differently. deal with it. if u havent caught on to that....wow these movies must have made you angry.
angel was overhyped, but he was cute.
colossus...wow...he was a cameo TWICE. (haha not really a cameo, but yall know what i mean)
why did they even add kitty?...what was her purpose really? not that i didnt like her, but her whole "dickhead" comment was really not that funny. she looked like she was 12. i guess she was just to bring alive the kids that were distraught from prof x "leaving". o and to create tension in rogue and bobby's relationship.
bobby should of had his conversation with wolverine from the trailers.
i liked how prof x was flawed.
im glad magneto regretted his decision after he was cured but....at the end while he moved the chess piece....it kind of took away the fact that he changed and made his whole looking at phoenix and saying "what have i done" line pointless. i guess they just HAD to do that just to hype up a potential sequel....which hopefully will happen because i am totally addicted.
beast...was he really all that cool in the movie? he served his purpose, but it was like...whatever.
i loved how they left the deaths of each character really vague...cyclops hopefully has a bigger chance to shine later on...because out of everyone...i think he has the most incomplete ending. the ending of the trilogy completed mostly everyone's problems...except for cyclops. he loves jean throughout, but he ends up dying?...i have the greatest theory on how they should start x4 with cyclops, but that's another thread.
mystique was incomplete too for a character who was there since x1. did she betray magneto or didnt she? what the hell will she do if she found out she wasnt cured permanently. her cure scene was just...beautiful. beautifully dramatic. i loved it.
pyro was for the fire.
what was callisto's purpose except for information? to prove magneto could go on without mystique? she had no depth whatsoever.
the cameos were silly. quill?..i think he was just there to fulfill putting other races into brett's great plan for diversity. psylocke should have done something that looked more like she was psylocke...i was confused. arclight looked cool even tho her power was silly.
leech had a cool room, and was totally stylish...hurrah.
o right...wolverine...how could i forget...tho im tired of the guy...hugh jackman is great. im sure he wasnt bad in the movie, but im too biased by the fact that they should've spread the screen time more to other characters too. how come he regenerated so fast when jean was demoleculatizing him...but the bullet that shot his head in x2 made him unconscious?
wow...was that everyone? who did i miss?
anyways....i liked x2 better because the themes of it weren't overshadowed by action. tho x3 was a different treat as well. they better make an x4....i hope they dont overhype it this time around. darn u internet
i thought superman returns was a great film.
pirates of the caribbean was long and confusing.
that is all.

nice review... i think 95% of it is what i think also ^_^
and yes... it is the movie-verse. hardcore comic fans need to get over it lol. if they cant see the many influences in the movie which are from the comic, then... iono ur just lame then... haha
yes superman returns was a good film and i dont think POTC lived up to the hype... ^_^
