Maybe in a later edition that's going to be released,to make it more like the X1 dvd,the only thing i don't like about it is that they repeat scenes in the whole thing,like play the regular version,the play the extended version all the way from the beginning o fthe scene,it was an irritating factor in X1's DVD,unless they edit it into the movie like they do with directors cut and unrated edition movies(just as an example,not that X3 would be unrated since it's only PG-13,not R)

i finally just finished watching the commentaries, the one with ratner and writers.
and i love the deeper explanation of Xaviers extra scene at the end. i wonder y they took out the footage of the name tag "P. Xavier". they said the idea of that scene was that brain dead guy was the movie's guy version of comic Cassandra Nova, Pro x's twin. so if there's a X4 then Pro X would look the same and possibly walk. if they left that name tag, i think it would of been less confusing and gave that person an identity then just some random guy.

Know what? Remy had BETTER be in the nextmovie. Because Romy is the best couple, and Rogue/Bobby makes me wanna puke.

i dunno i just hate the way they comments on everything....at one point they even insult ppl ( who r mostly x-fans) who bot the x3 dvd by saying who is stupid enuf to listen to the commentaries in the dvd.....and also the way they explain some scenes, their comments just worthless, esp about the transition from day to night with some half a** lame explaination..n then say ppl won't notice that...YA RITE! lol Brett's heart MAY b in the right place but i dunno where the hell his brain goes to!

HaHa,i agree,he made the movie good,he's a good director because it wasn't bad,but the little things are dumb,it would've looked great if the battle happened during the day or sunset,it would've gotten a big WOW,especially for DP's scene in the end,it woiuld've been awsome,but they decided to make it night for some dumb reason, it went fro 3pm to 11pm in 10.5 seconds,lol,leave it during the day.
Taking things out becasue it takes you out of the movie, SOOO,it's the dark phoenix,the most cherished storyline ever in X-Men history,too bad they keep going back and ruining it with warsong,but leave it in,it's the big finale and a once in a lifetime momnet,we need all of it as we can get.
I do agree on his reason why he put rouge taking the cure in the final cut,where would she be that whole time,did she not want to fight,her hair is kinda better than it was when she left,did she go shopping and got hewr hair done,who knows,but she didn't want to help,so to solve that mak eher go take the cure

true indeed...but we should see a lot of improvement on a director's cut but Brett did make the movie awesome but im sure all the fans who were upset about the movie would be very happy if a director's cut were released next year.
The part where it turns from day to night did look cheap...but where Jean senses the girl...it would have explained better...and i have to agree with DPK it would have looked great if the final battle took place at late afternoon..it would give everyone a good after movie feeling.

Yeah but the transition fom the day to night is essential cos after all the actual filming took place inteh night, and if u listen the commentary carefully the place has to take place at exactly 7.22pm in the evening... so the transition is essential plus if the battle took place in the day, the dark phoenix destruction effects wouldn't be that nice as teh the effects would look much better during night time with all the explosion and everything... lol...

yeah,but they could've always filmed it innthe morning,that set wasn't inside,it was an outdoor set in a construction site,so it would've worked in terms of filming.
The effects would've been basically the same for DP's scene,if it happened like at sunset or like how it was when the bridge fell,it would be a little better and wouldn't look as confusing as at night like it does a bit now.

well it is very subjective, i dun really care what time the setting is on, lol, but all i care is that i wish they have made the final battle and dark phoenix's destruction scene much longer!!!

I wish Dark PHoenix's destruction was more large scale,because all she really did was disintergrate the already ruines courtyard,a small chunk of the building(you can see that in the arial view when the water starts to rise) and the eastern wall,c'mon,i wish they made it like how it was in the Art of X-Men the last stand book,the raised and twisted the entire bay,practically destroyed the docks,the island was just a mound of rocks,and the city was being sent towards the sky,she's Dark Phoenix,she's suppoised to be the most powerful,let her do something groundbreaking

yeah and i wish they showed storm ATTEPMPTING to battle her...in the previz animatics it shows storm flying a little longer after logan told her to go.....the camera followed her all the way to the bridge...i guess that is where she flew off too...i bet they showed it but cut it...

And in the commentary,they were joking about when wolverine told storm to get everyone to safety,they were joking saying"okay yeah sure,imma go get myself to safety,have fun",lol

they should have shown jean doing ala mose parting the sea to either pave the way for brotherhood or if she arrive alone, she is just paving the way for herself....so much better than the golden bridge scene, imagine the same swirling of water just like before she appear to scott, and then the water would slowly part and the mainland ppl would be captivated in morbid fascination
