I will state this for the 100th time: The only reason that I am going to see the X-Men movies is because their is a Storm character. It can be a paperbag with a cottonball wig called "Storm" and I WILL go see it. Hope this shows my level of devotion to the character. I am a big Storm fan, if you have not noticed. 
I don't feel that I should be grateful or happy that the studio is relying on the money that Halle stalkers are going to bring in over giving the role to an actress who better suits the role. I AM NOT dissing Halle people, not at all, but I still think that she is not the best choice for portraying Storm. I say that she is not beacuse of her height, skin-color (don't even THINK about calling me racist or bigot), her inability to stick an African accent etc. I don't blame Halle for lines etc, because she works with what she is given.
Is weird how quickly people forget. *whistles*

Misty, no one is saying she is the best choice...well a couple of people are...what we are saying is that yes in terms of height and all that she isnt the best but that was the past ( like 10 yrs ago) when they first made their choice...now we are stuck with halle and want just halle because to change the actress no matter how diff is a BIG BIG TURN OFF.... I would be very pissed if they changed actress because its a drastic change doesnt matter if I love Storm or Halle its a big change...ive grown to love halle as storm and also love storm more and love halle more because shes played storm but thats it...

Change of actress is not problem for me, like I said they can change to Arnold Schawfshgkhfenegger with a white T-Shirt over his head and is labeled at "Storm", I WILL go to see it. But thats just me. Was fun chatting Wolvie, I believe I have exhausted my main points and I DO understand where you are coming from even if I disagree. |

I believe halle was a great choice and was probrobly the best choice because it was halle that fought for that better role and for better use, and for someone new to come in after all that hard work and the way her charater is protrayed now by halle will completly suck, also if a new storm comes in she won't be like the comic book storm because halle has already given us a new one. She can't just go back to the accent and all after storm has evolved, well she could but i think it's best to leave it out because it was already changed once

Well you have your opinions and i'll have mine. I diden't think it was really nessesary for her to have the accent. I believe she protrayed the character just fine without it. I think it's the way the actor plays the role no matter what type of accent or voice they have as long as the character is believable or not as storm. I felt that halle did a great job as storm and wish no one else in her place at this very momment. I actually diden't want the way she talked like TAS 1990 . That voice was kind of annoying (no disrespect to storm what so ever). But remember that the movies and the comics are different so if they would have had another storm they probrobly would have acted the same as halle due to the lack of charaterlization of the character from bryan singer. |

Bryan singer told her to drop the accent. IMO i don't think she really needs the accent to tell someone to stand together. It doesen't have to be exactly like the comic book charater for me, and halle did keep it real with the character and improve it throughout the films. If it weren't for halle we would have a short scene storm hardly ever shown in the film, so be thankful for that. Do you really want to gamble for another actress for the past two films that would have fought as hard as halle did? I woulden't |

I believe that out of all the black actresses out there Halle is the best choice. The women can act. Remember when she won the Oscar? She played that part well she cried and everything. NOw I am a Halle fan so thats probably why I will always defend her but I am a fan for diverse reasons. The accent and the eyes are not her fault, she does'nt call the shots, Singer did! Now this time she said enough and talked and negotiated and at least we see a lot more of the Storm we know. Anyhow, remember this is an adaptation of the comics and cartoons we know of. It will not be the same, it has to change because it is an ADAPTATION! It is not a replica, otherwise Storm and Wolverine among other wouldn't even be in the first movie. Right? It would be the original six. So again Storm's disperfections are not Halle's fault. Now if you would of liked to see another actress portray the part and see how it would of gone then ok everyone has there own taste. I still believe Halle has the best acting skills to play any part.

Yeah and plus the studios obviously do care about the money but see the fans are tied in with the money aspect....I just cant imagine the same exact character pulled from a comic and into the movie world....although storm is really hot and cool and unique...if they wouldve cast an actress that looked exactly like Storm, had the accent, and everything else it wouldve looked really weird...the characters in the comics and TAS are very exaggerated and thats why Storm is so cool because she couldnt be anymore perfect....
in the movies they toned the actual storm down to make it look more real so if Storm doesnt have an accent and yeah her skin is lighter and her hair is really weird and shes shorter but id rather have that than a character played by RUPAUL just because shes closer in height or something...
Halle is normal looking and close enough to storm to satisfy me a true storm fan...yeah shes not perfectly similar but that can be a good thing...
