Brett Ratner, director of X-Men: The Last Stand, said he will have a personally made behind-the-scenes look as part of the film's DVD release. "I have a two-hour documentary on the making of the movie that I shot," Ratner said. "It wasn't like EPK (electronic press kit) crews coming by and filming me going, 'Oh, today we're filming the...' "It was an in-depth making of the movie." Ratner said he was excited about putting the DVD together. "I think if you're an X-fan or a fan of this movie, it's going to be mind-blowing," he said. Ratner said the DVD will contain new footage, but it won't be an extended cut. "Probably 99 percent of the scenes I shot are in the movie, but there are other versions of it that were shot," he said. "Until I saw the movie, I wasn't sure in which direction I wanted to go. For instance, the Rogue scene. Should she get the cure or should she not get the cure? "So there was a lot of variations." i thought its gr8 she took the cure...shes the one that wanted to take it the most in the X-men universe, its so dramatic because she wants to change who she really is because she considers it a curse not a gift...i know you wouldve liked to see her fight but this shows the emotional human side of her...no worries though!!! the cure will wear off and hopefully she will fly and have superstrength in X4!!

I wish Ratner wouldn't lie...99% of the footage shot in the movie? Is that why they cut 15 minutes from the premiere version for the theatrical version? lol. I don't think 15 minutes equals 1%.

It will be interesting to see what different versions of those scenes there were.

Actually, they cut 39 minutes. WHICH SUCKS Well, that's not really confirmed so I said 15 mintues because the premiere had 15 minutes extra. The 2 hour 24 minute runtime was just a rumor.

Actually she takes the Cure in the novel as well. She goes back when the X-Men leave. Or atleast that's how I understood the "I did it for me" discussion in the novel.

not in the official novel, she comes back and tells wolve that she tricked bobby it seems, and stays behind to protect the mansion because she now has control over her powers

Actually there is the first scene right before they go to Alcatraz and says "I couldn't do it" to Wolverine and she stays behind.
Then later she tells Bobby that she "had to do it for her" in the epilouge. I just finished it last night but I will go and re read just to make sure.

Eiether he is lying to us (so he can get out of making an extended version) or he really was stupid enough to only shoot 1hr and 55mns of film. Either way I have a bone to pick with him... Way to go Ratner...

I would have loved it if it were extended like LoTR no one cares about the time when you are at home. I hope the documentaries and deleted scenes are worth it as they sould add something like the the JUbillee scene in X2. Just a hope. However I won't get all hyped up because the first 2 DVD's I washping for some type of in depth character anylasis along with in depth anylasis of their powers like the sites do only on the DVD easy and accessable however I was dissapointed which is weird because that should at least be on the first DVD. SO wI will only hope but won't be to excited.

Well Rogue will most likely get her powers back but the superstrength and flight wasnt one of her powers so she would still have to suck them from Ms. Marvel because that is how she got those...
It would be cool if in X4...Rogue gets her powers back and she freaks out and runs away again and meets Ms. Marvel and that is how she gets them...although that would make Rogue run away for the 4th time LOL

Why is he an idiot for using 99% of his material (if that's true)? He was extremely rushed by Fox so they could get the movie out before Superman Returns to show up Singer. Heck as I understand it he was filming as late as two weeks before the premiers. That shows that he had to do what he could to get something good out.
And in my opinion that's exactly what he did do.
