i have no problem with Heath Ledger as the new joker. hes a great actor he'll be able to pull it off I have little doubt he can do a decent job with the character...I just...I guess I'm biased...I grew up on the classic Jack Nicholson portrayal of Joker. It is probably my favorite portrayal of a villain in any film...stole the show...only rivaled by Ian MacDiarmid's Palpatine and perhaps Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor. But let's see how Heath Ledger does; maybe it'll be an instant classic as well. I never thought anybody else could do nearly as well with Lex as Hackman, but Kevin Spacey came pretty close! I was impressed then, and maybe I'll be impressed this time around as well! ;D

I hope Ledger makes Joker his own and doesn't follow in Nicholson's footsteps. I liked Nicholson as The Joker, he was amazing in the role, but that was a different type of Batman. I am hoping for a more evil and dark take on Joker this time.

Oh by all means, I agree! He must make it his own. I'm hoping he takes the ball and runs with it, and does a fantastic job. My fingers are crossed!

so it appears Maggie Gyllenhaal will be officially replacing Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes in "The Dark Knight." I was never a big Katie Holmes fan so it shouldn't bug me too much at all. However, I don't usually like it when original actors are replaced because I believe it messes up continuity. Obviously, not continuity in the story, just the overall presentation...but what can you do? How do you guys feel about this?

Well, I also don't like when actor's drop out and are replaced, but since Holmes doesn't want to be a part of the Batman franchise then they really picked an amazing actress to replace her. Gyllenhaal is 100 times the actress Holmes is and I wish they would have picked her from the beginning.

I would like to point out that I am excited that Aaron Eckhart will be portraying Harvey Dent. He's great for the role, and it makes me wonder if he will actually become Two-Face in this movie, thus providing a nice set-up for a third movie. Either way, the character's inclusion opens the doors for Two-Face to show up in the future at some point.

I think what they will do is have Harvey Dent scarred at the end of the film, which would be the cliffhanger ending that would lead to Batman 3.

I like that cliffhanger, and I'll leave the theater quite happy if they do it that way. ;D

I'm actually hoping for that myself. I love the Batman world and that ending would be so freakin' cool. It would be great for Two-Face to be done right. lol. I have no doubt that Aaron Eckhart will do a awesome job with the role.
This film, Prince Caspian and the Next Bond film will most likely be my most anticipated films of 2008.

yes, the pic is cool and if you go to the official site i posted recently and click on the batman logo, there is an entertaining surprise! If you thought I was hyped up for Spidey 3, just wait till we get closer to the release of The Dark Knight. I grew up on Batman, and Batman Begins got me back into Batman films big time!

I grew up on Batman, and Batman Begins got me back into Batman films big time! Ditto that, I got sucked in to the Bat world with the first film and then when I got into comics the first two titles I bought were X-Men and Batman, which coincidentally are my two fave comic book worlds. I think the next day I went and got Spider-Man...hehe. So those are my top 3. Can't wait for The Dark Knight, so far everything is shaping up well.
