Oh my gosh, i havent read oldfriends review, we must have posted at one time. lol
To Oldfriends review lol.
LOL. about Rogue, i think her whole role in this film was pointless anyway. No offence to fan, i really like Rogue, but the film is a hell of a lot better if you pretend Rogue and Angel arent there at all.

not really my review yet, but just some thoughts
i watched the midnight showing... lol hurray for only 4 hrs of sleep b4 school.. haha
and it was good, yes. was it great? no... somethings could of been done better. it just seems that there were so many side action scenes that they didnt concentrate on the action scene that really matters [the final battle] it seemed very anti climatic... though... i still loved the movie and i still cried in some scenes... lol esp the Phoenix scenes...
x2, was the best movie out of the 3 ^_^
omg i got so many chills in every Phoenix scene... haha i teared a lot too, so intense in some scenes.
and i do like how they explained Jean's Phoenix alterego, and its not Pro X fault y she turned into it. she already had that alter ego b4 setting the blocks, like what Pro X said when they had their setions[sp?]
i find it creepy how i watched x3 at midnight and when i had my Psychology class this morning, we were learning about Dissociative Disorders. and a popular disorder amongst that is Multiple personalty disorder. which is clearly what Jean had. so Pro X had to block that alter ego away which also blocked most of her powers

Hey all, I saw the movie at 12:00am this morning (boy am I tired). This is my review:
Ok. I'll start off by saying that if you've watched all the trailers/tv spots/clips online, you've seen the best parts. For everyone who managed to remain completely spoiler free-enjoy. Now, after the movie was over I didn't think "Oh my god oh my god, that was mind-blowing." At first, I thought about how quick it went. It's fast paced, it goes fast. Then I thought about my response to the movie. I loved it. From all the trailers and tv spots I saw, I loved. Since they're in the movie, I loved the movie.
Magneto is, by far, the best character in the movie. By far. He has the best action scenes (uh Golden Gate Bridge anyone?) and you can really see what Magneto is all about here. I love the character, I love Ian McKellen. He nailed it in this film.
Phoenix. I'm a little disappointed there was no firebird, but man this girl is insane. You can see moments where the old Jean comes back, and then BAM! She gets provoked and all hell breaks loose. At Magneto's side, she doesn't do much. But when she does something, its huge. I loved the character.
Since I love Pyro as it is, I'm going to write a little about him (haha). So he's vicious, he's the right hand man, but you can see little moments of decency in him. When Magneto leaves a cured Mystique in the convoy, you can see the look of shock on Pyro's face. I read from jameslogan on this board, that there was another ending after the credits of Pyro going back to the mansion and telling Bobby he was right. This didn't happen in the movie I saw, but I hope to god its true. You can still see that Pyro is indeed a teenager. He tells Magneto that if given the chance, he would have killed the Professor (which is clear he wouldn't have been able to and he's just saying that to spark some kind of response in Magneto). I love the actor, I love the character. Pyro is sweet.
Cyclops. Damn, this guy got screwed. The thing is, I can't see how he would have fit into the movie. It was more about the relationship between Jean and Logan then Jean and Scott. He was basically there to show the rise of Phoenix and then discarded like a cameo. Slightly disappointing.
I'll make this short. The movie is an 8/10 in my books. If it was longer, my rating would be higher. The special effects were fantastic though. Just brilliant. And the acting was superb.

I went with 5 non-xmen fans who know nothing about it and they were asking me questions ALL DAY. OL they really enjoyed it. Unfortunately i cant persuade them that the ending means that the cure isnt permanent. They seem to think its all about the certain level they all have. So theyre all "So what levels storm" and stuff like that. Gosh its shocking lol.

First off: 9/10
Phoenix: the best they couldve did it. No one could do it better. Star of the movie!! Logan: Same ol' same. good emotions though. Storm: Good, She showed her @$$ Iceman: OK, not bad but we wanna see the ice slide. shadowcat: Not bad Colossus: horrible, he should have had one great fight moment jubilee: Pisses me off! can we see fireworks please cyke: at 1st i was mad but, him dieing made sence. short but Ok jugs: great! "i'm juggernot bi***!LOL good to see him kick logans @$$ PSYloke: horrible, we wanna see her knife and at least one good fight moment quills: good but short magneto: One of the best. He showed his @$$ Raven Dark: good and funny but short pyro: good beast: great, K. Grammer couldve not have done better multibleman: Crappy, he really didnt do anything rouge: horrible big dissapointment, we shouldve seen her kick someones @$$ and fly. Brett R.: good, the movie is what it should be. but I dont like multibleman is a bad guy when he was a good guy in the comic book. and who was that guy throwing bones at logan, isnt that morrows power. overall: the movie is dark just like it is posed to be. 9/10. it coudve had more storytelling. jugs is pro. x's brother but they didnt show that. The movie is too short, they rushed alot of things. it shoudve been 20 minites longer. Psyloke is a good guy in the comic too. we shouldve seen colossus kick @$$. Jugs didnt have to call kitty a B****. I was a little affended by that. But at the end of the day, It rocked. it was scary as hell, I thought phonix was gonna kill me, it gave me chills. I cried when the proff died.

I saw the movie again and i noticed that in this one there is not the kiss between iceman and rogue, in the premier i saw it, i dont know why it didnt show that scene, the premier version was a little more longer but just a little. I cant remember more scenes i saw in the premier but that kiss...i saw it

Oh well hurray! I think they left out the kissing scene cos they didnt want to add insult to injury of hat Rogue is going thru, they are sensitive abt that...

okay - i have to admit that when i first saw reviews coming in for x3, i was both disappointed and relieved at the same time. it was not destined for the dvd bin along with the likes of the hulk, elektra (which i didnt think was THAT bad anyway!), and possibly even FF (GASP!)....however, it seemed that it was not exactly destined for great things either....
my overall verdict....they were right...as a die hard, love the comics kinda guy, i really left the cinema wanting so much more. where was the development, where were the characters that we had grown to love and where oh where was phoenix fire?!?!?!it was fine, but i felt a tad embarrassed to have dragged all my mates to the 'summer blockbuster' i had promised them!
for a start - i loved watching the clips online, and loved the build up, but had i realised that i had watched a great deal of plot development and storyline, i maybe would not have watched them after all!
dont get me wrong, i thought parts of it were great. i actually laughed at parts that have been described as cheesy or awful, but also felt that the moments where we should, for instance, be sad (i.e. numerous deaths!), we really did not connect with the film on an emotional level. i just thought....big deal....they're dead.....anyone who 'cried' at either of the first two death scenes really needs to get out more as these could have been done so much better.....the last of the death scenes (of all those that die, the last death of all was pretty harrowing, but couldnt help but think that it should have been someone else there hearing all that was to be said as in the comics....as it was....it didnt quite fit in my fanboy world of x.....if you have seen it, you will know who and what i mean!!!!)
GOOD magneto - great acting and loved what developments they made to his charcter by the end - really felt like we had been taken on a journey throughout the three films....same goes for storm (and while i think berry may not be the stongest actor in the world!) i think she did pretty well...although it does look like they have photshopped her eyes in some of the scenes it looks so terrible!!! she really does get to zip around though - danger room scene when she flies towards logan - pretty cool!Famke jansenn also plays a psycho rather well, although phoenix was never going to live up to what any of the fans wanted after all!!!
BAD Rogue, Bobby, Kitty, Angel.....erm, would have been nice to see a load moe of them....kitty got loads more air time than rogue and whilst rogue would have been terrible in 'the last stand,' i cant help but think her character has been left out with the garbage....not exactly destined for greatness any time soon lol! wolverine, not a favourite of mine, varied throughout...he was great, then not so, then great, then awful.....take it with a pinch of salt and he's fine...i guess!angel was a complete waste and almost totally unecessary.....the small part of me that was satiated by his appearance would in retrospect have much rathered a rajin-cajun or some potential enemy for x4 than him! he looks cool, but thats as far as it goes!
beast i thought got a pretty good go, and whilst some of the wire work doesnt look great, overall i think the fans will be pleased.kelsey is perfect IMO....
UGLY Phoenix needed more character development as to be unreal - we never delved into the dark recesses of this other 'personna' at all - boo!!!!!would have traded all the fast ball specials in the world to have heard/seen an ethereal phoneix surrounded in flames pounding nine bells of crap out of anyone in her way.....we get close, but i just wanted MORE! (am i being greedy?!?!)
mystique, while great at times, really lost out...while some characters were just crap (juggernaut, spike, arclight anyone!??!?), she really had the potential for great things which then just fell flat on their face! ddint like the character developments here at all.....
in all, the last stand really needn't be the be all and all of the x franchise. i cant say i am chomping on the bit for either the wolverine or magneto films, but nor am i in a rush to see an x4 which will disappoint as much as this....(possibly harsh lol!!!)
i liked this film, but wont be seeing it again in the cinema, and eagerly look forward to all the awesome clips they must have taken out in order to make this film pretty average (fingers, toes and eveything else crossed!) lol!
hope you enjoyed the rant! any thoughts?!?!?!

I was slightly disappointed but not terribly disappointed, of course it is not as bad as Hulk, Fantastic Four, Elektra, Daredevil! But as a X-MEN franchise, it has a reputation to live up to and X3 has destroyed the reputation which Singer has so fondly and taken many years of struggles to build up... it all takes one STUDIO's impatience, director's ego, writer's ridiculous greed to include so many characters yet squeexed into a short time frame!
I wont say it is a LOSER! But X3 could have been better, much better... The high expectations were met with disappointments!

Ok... I just got back from the movie for my first time... It Blew Me Away. Heres my Review (some spoilers.): As I walked in to the theater to see X-Men: The Last Stand, several things were going through my mind. I knew that the scenes would be rushed, it wouldn't be the same as X2, and some charaters would be shortened. So I told myself that these things were going to happen and just face it and dont let it bother me... this worked and its the reason i loved it! The two flashback scenes were great, and bravo to little Angel and little Jean! Oh and every1 is right, Jean's mother looks almost exactly like Famke. Once i saw the making of the cure and cerebro doors i lost all tension and was like, "This is going to be a great movie." The two things i didnt really like was the part where Prof. X explained about Jeans split-personality as a child, and the presidents acting. The whole explanation of jean having another personality known as Pheonix sounded rather cheesy and idk stupid, but it grew because you could see it by the Acting of FAmke (Wonderful!) I dont know why but the PResidents acting just bothered me lol. Watching the movie with an ope-head and not letting the scene rush bother worked as i said because i barely noticed the rush. To me the scenes were coherent and had unity and they got to the story. This really wasnt the same as X2 to me it had a different tone, and it worked! The tone was soo exciting and so captivating it had my eyes glued to the screen the whole movie. Even though some alloted publicized characters didnt have much runtime (Rogue, Cyclops, and Angel) They made the time they had theirs. Rogue showed her jealousy and i loved Anna Paquin as Rogue! Angel, wow, he did an amazing job the time he was on screen. Cyclops well was soo emotional that it was sadning but he did an amazing job the first half hour he was in. Another thing i was dissapointed in was the part were Pheonix rose. The effects that they did was amazing and all i was just expecting more. I wanted to actually see jean rise from the depths of the lake, instaed of the whirling waves, light, and the "Oh there she is in front of Cyclops." Pheonix... took my breath away at the end. The whole finale was so epic that it entranced me...btw great effects! I loved how they had real Jean being able to telelpath cyclops and logan. Its awesome to see the change from jean to pheonix. Famke you did EXCELLENT! The house scene was wonderfully done also. Halle Berry did an excellent job with storm this time around. Her character progession was amazing knowing that she finally broke out of her shell and rose to the occasion of leading the school. Fight scenes were awesome especially between CAllisto at the end with the fence lol. Wolverine is really in love with Jean . The ending was soo sad and greatly done with effects from being partially demolecularized to normal to demolecularized. Hugh did great at the endind it was WOW and breath-taking. Magneto was sooo powerful and amazing. Especially at the end when he said "What have I done" (this pertaining to jean). And wow i jsut wanted to scream at the screen when he ditched Mystique, by the way she kicked *** the time she was on screen! Ian Mckellen did wonderful as usual. The ending with Xavier and Moira was an omg moment in the audience, or what was left o fthe audience. The thing ill have to pick about this is that if there is a sequel -hopefully- i hope he gets his body back or something cause it would be weird with some old new guy as prof. x. So if you go to see this movie i suggest go see it and put the whole rushed nonsense behind you and go there to see a great movie. My rating is 9/10!
