They could have added a few scenes...they did for Xavier.

i know......but they have down played cyclops for the last three films so they would have felt like it was not warranted...which is garbage because he deserved better.

So true, but still, he was the team leader...there should have been some emotion, especially from Xavier and Storm!

I don't know...Cyke's death was just...*sigh* And for those who say it was off screen and all well let me say this. When Phoenix used her powers she obliterated everything in her way...how can scott survive if in all the other scenes, anyone in close proximity got obliterated? I mean, he's gone and that is just so wrong. Then no one even really cared...*sighs* I don't think I will get over that for sure. I'm a filmmaker myself, and from a filmmaking perspective it SCREAMED to me that they were going to do something with Cyclops later on in the film. Just the entire way they not only avoided showing his death, but danced around the subject in conversation. Logan says to Storm "I THINK she killed Scott." Then there's Xavier's funeral scene, with Charles dieing AFTER Scott would have. Was Scott mentioned in any way shape or form? Was any kind of service held for him in his honor? Negative. More dancing around the subject, giving people like myself false hope that he's probably somehow okay and will pop up at a climactic moment at the end of the film. This never happens however, and it turns out, for me at least, to be one giant **** tease. Maybe I expected too much. Maybe I gave a little too much credit to those behind the film that they wouldn’t really let Cyclops go down like that. But regardless, as the film comes to a close they stop dancing around the subject, albeit in a very haphazard way. "Oh by the way we realized we never really confirmed that Scott is in fact dead, so here's his gravestone. Hope that clears things up." Complete horseshit. Everything I loved about the movie is basically decimated by this treatment Scott got. I can ignore it and enjoy the flick for what it is, but the second I start to think about it I start to get really pissed off. In terms of bringing him back in X4 though, there’s a realistic way. I don’t think they’ll take it because I assume they’ll want to leave Jean and Scott be dead together, but there’s a way. Not just that, but just his whole final scene in looking back on it, the way we finally got to see his eyes, just seems like a thing they did as a farewell to Jimmy. Kind of like a… well we're not gonna be seeing this guy anymore so we might as well let his eyes be seen for once in this trilogy. My way for bringing back Scott would be as follows. Notice how when Jean is found she's unconscious. Upon obliterating tons of other people no such thing occurred. So why this time? The Scott issue was a sensitive one for Jean, upon bringing it up Logan seemed to be able to get the good Jean back for a moment. Also when Xavier brings it up doesn’t she really lose it? The two of them have been together a long time, and he is obviously a very significant part of her life. I’d say that JUST before Phoenix annihilates Scott, he's able to say or do something that strikes a cord with Jean and make the Phoenix lose control for a moment. In doing this the control over Scott’s eyes is lost, and his optic blast rather suddenly shoots out at Jean, knocking her unconscious. So what happens to Scott? I'm sure someone else can come up with something much more clever than I could at this hour. But getting around him being vaporized is the most important part, and I think that works well.

I agree with downhere, No one gave a Shhh about cyke. He was the team leader, I wouldve liked to see people morn over his death.
People need to stop being so hard on brett, he did the best he could with the time he had. Dark Phoenix was great and I dont think Singer couldve did better with Phoenix. The big problem is IT WAS TOO SHORT! If it was about 20 more minites it wouldve been perfect. It was rushed a little and the final fight couldve been a lil longer, I wouldve liked to see colossus do something other than throw logan. Bryan wasnt all that, x1 was ok and lets not forget it was short too. x2 was the best because it was longer and they had more storytelling time. If x3 was longer it wouldve been better than x2. Brett did a good job ending the triligy. It had more good than bad.
X4, I wanna see gambit, blob and avalanch. I wanna see cyke come back in a coma or something. I dont wanna see jean or phoenix, the triligy is over start a new one. I dont wanna see magneto(time to start a new villin)I wanna see mystique kill magneto and the scarlett witch and quicksilver takeover. And Bring on Sinister and apocolypse(new triligy). Dark angel And Dark Beast in X6.
Bottomline:X3 is hot!!! X2 was the best and X1 was a little lame. They cant end the xmen saga without gambit. If this is the last movie, everybody at fox needs to kill their selves!!!!!!!!!!!!

This movie is absolutely great! My local newspaper 'Connecticut Post' gave it an F! But they're obviously not X-Fans like us huh! But yeah here's what I loved:
*Storm flew, fought & kicked @$$ *Storm whooped Callisto's @$$ *The X-Men fought like true heroes unlike the previous films! *Shadowcat had a great part! And rocked so much! *Colossus kicked major booty! *Jean was so0o0o0o great as Phoenix! *Wolverine kicked major but! *Iceman had a great part! *Mystique got revenge! *Rogue looked so pretty & had a deep role *The Danger Room looked amazing! *GREAT ACTION! *Little glimpse at Muir Island (during the secret scene!) *Professor X got a little snippy at times which I loved! *One of the best comic movies out there! *Great secret scene that could lead to X4!!!!!!!!
Here's What I Didn't Like:
*You didn't see Jean rise from Alkali Lake, just a whirlpool! *Absoutely no Phoenix Firebird image as promised! Just the screech *Mystique saved Magneto's but & he left her there! *Mystique is cured = ( *Rogue got cured like a p***y *Just one Sentinel! And no body, just a head! *Cyclops died wayyyy to early & had no action scences! *No Emma Frost or M as promised! (at least I didn't see them!) *No action from Siryn or Jubilee! *Colossus barely said anything (he said more in X2!) *Arclight said absolutely nothing! *All Storm did was fly & use lightning, where's the hailstorm as promised? *Moira & Angel didn't do much or say much! *Scenes were too short! *And the movie was toooo short!

MY Review.. It was GREAT!! BETTER THAN THE FIRST TWO. I give it a 8 and a half out of 10!!! At the end of the film, alot of people stayed after the credits to see the final scene. I bet some of them were from here of SHH forums!! LOL.

yea was the cure only temporary cuz in the end magneto was trying to move the chess piece and it started to move, so then if they made a next movie they could make it so that the cure was only temporary. Cuz i dont want Mystique to be cured. They also could easily bring back Jean/Phoenix

I was thinking the same thing Spike, but seriously, if they bring back either Cyke or Jean now it's going to be really weird plot wise. Who knows...I mean, if they could make it work that Cyke comes back but I think it will come off as cheesy...*sighs* ^^^I feel the exact same way because i love Jean Grey and i really want her to be in future X-men Films (if there is) But honestly how can they bring ehr back because thats really cheating because its like a "been there dont that" kinda thing.

Yeah I forgot to put that, the cure is temporary! Magneto will come back with a vengance! And Mystique will to on a rampage towards Magneto, hopefully forming her Brotherhood of Evil Mutants which contains: Pyro, Blob, Avalance & Destiny! Which could lead to Rogue getting her powers because Destiny helped Mystique get Rogue back on their side! Ohhhh I'm excited, but maybe Pyro won't join Mystique's Brotherhood b/c he's so0o0o0o loyal to Magneto as shown clearly in X3!

I have just seen again and its so much better. I boost it up to a 9 now. See it again, its sooo much better. Dont think about whats wrong, just watch it as one film, not from a die hard fans point of view, and you will see how amazing it is.

I highly doubt you'll be seeing Magneto again in anything other than his spin off prequel or MAYBE a cameo. He got three movies, which is two more than most comic book villains get, he's dunzo. There's a whole plethora of other villains to draw from for future films, and that's what they'd do in X4 and beyond. Would you even really want Magneto to return? I mean what better way could you really conclude his character? He truly went out with a bang, and I don't think his final scene was meant at all to imply he'd be back or that the cure IS temporary, but more so just to let him leave on a higher note. You could kind of look at this as Magneto's trilogy. It starts with him in the holocaust, and it ends with him living a normal life... or is he? The "or is he" is the saving grace of his character, if not for it myself as well as countless other fans would be really sad he lost his powers, but just that little HINT that MAYBE he still has um, or will get them back in time, is enough to make me happy about the place we're leaving Magneto. We don't need to actually see it in future films, the same way that just because we saw Xavier's mind survived doesn't mean we have to see him resurface in future films. Those scenes were done to make us smile and not feel like the ending was so final. Of course the one character they SHOULD have given a scene like that was Scott... but don't even get me started on him.

ok my opinion now the phoenix storyline was perfect, the cure storyline was perfect, everything was perfect to me...well only the time. about cyclops...well they "kill" him but we didnt see part of his body or the explosion of his body like we saw in the professor's scene, maybe he is going to come back (if there's another x-film) Phoenix/Jean: Famke the best performance i've ever seen. what can i tell you about this girl! she is AWSOME! Beast: OMG! beast was awsome! kelsey grammer did an excellent job! *applauds* Wolverine: well like always if he has more screentime, its because he is wolverine! Period Storm: Halle she is perfect! i mean in this film we saw storm using her real powers! not like in x2 or x1 Angel: well this character dissapoint me because he didnt do anything! Professor: that scene is the best! i mean i almost cry! but he didnt die so why many complaings about it Rogue: well she had to be powerful and everything but in the movie is a kid, in the comics when she was a kid she wasnt powerful, another point is the cure, why they gave her the cure? because we suposse this is a real movie, if you cant touch someone then what could you do? take the cure Oh and the music! lol! is awsome!!! i like it and i dont know why they cut off some scenes?? in the premier i saw the kissing scene and now where it is? in conclusion rate to this movie: 10

I just don't understand. Watching the 7 minute preview again gave me chills..and I saw the movie already. So what gives? Maybe the lack of music, but the scenes still hyped me up.
I haven't decided my stance on this movie yet. Odd. I think I'll go watch it again.
