found this while doing a reserch project for school on fox studios Games publisher Activision is set to release X-Men: The Official Movie Game, the official video game tie-in to the film across all major videogame platforms on May 16, 2006. The various editions of the game bridge the events of the films X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand and feature many of both films' prominent characters. Most notably, it will provide an explanation to Nightcrawler's absence. Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Alan Cumming and Shawn Ashmore reprise their film roles in this game. On April 4, 2006, Activision confirmed that Sentinels, Lady Deathstrike, Pyro, and Sabretooth will appear in the game. Also Silver Samurai, Multiple Man and Magneto have recently been added to the roster.

i dont know if everyone already knows this but Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Iceman arent the only playable characters
Wolverine (all consoles)
Nightcrawler (all consoles)
Iceman (all consoles)
Magneto (DS only)
Colossus (GBA only)
Gambit (PSP only)

 There isn't even a PSP version for it. And if there was, I'd doubt they'd include Gambit of all people. Where did you hear this?

I have read that the game has 3 characters - wolverine, nightcrawler and iceman...and is available in PS2/XBOX360/Xbox/Nintendo DS/Nintendo GameCube and GBA.
AND that DS and GBA do offer exclusive characters to play.

there are video clips for X-Men Official Game on IGN now..check it out.
my favourite is the battle between wolverine and deathstrike!
